How To Design A Logo

First of all when you search for this on internet you will find tons of articles forwarding to either software’s that create logos, or some website which makes logo’s for you instantly or would refer to some service provider. But I am writing this article for the sole purpose of teaching the process how to design a logo, and then it does not make any difference which software you are using like Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw or CAD-Rhino. Once you get the basic theme in your mind it will be very easy for you. This article will not even forward you to any referring service site. This will teach you the real way to think and led you to the seamless path of logo designing.

Logo designing is a complex process but once you understand it, believe me it will be as easy as thinking. The hardest thing in logo designing is conceptualizing. Many of you are pretty good at using various designing software’s you can easily bring out what’s on your mind to the software. But to get the idea in mind is the tough part. Logo is not merely a small image; it represents a whole lot of thing than simply an image. Why do you think people pay lots of dollars for just a small piece of artwork? The answer is logo is the unique identity of the business it the brand name of the business representing the whole business in just small area. It just not only represents business but also the various aspects of the business. Logos are not only use for commercial purpose they are used for non-profit organization, events, small and large business, individual, community, culture, race etc. Most people just believe logo as and online piece of artwork that the designer designs and get paid for. But in reality have you ever imagined where do you see a logo? Answer is almost everywhere you will find it on flyer, broacher, magazine, biz cards, websites, skyscraper, banners, hoardings, billboards and even on the tallest building in the downtown New York. So don’t underestimate the value of the logo. Now you can wonder why the designer of a logo is paid high, because it he who makes a business grows by just a so called small artwork.

So to design a logo you first need to understand what it is meant for you need to understand the motto behind it. So discuss with your client about the finest detail that will help you to develop a masterpiece. There are various types of logos symbolic, text, mascot, Web2.0 ish, and much more so you got to decide which one will best suit. Then make an imaginary sketch of how the logo should look like according to you. Now the best way which I am most of designer prefer is to draw a rough sketch of the imagination on a paper with hand. Try to manipulate the sketch and make it better. If you need, do a bit of research for the concept. Research plays an important role in brainstorming you concept. I would suggest do research but don’t let the research drive you imagination in its direction be unique and try to make new out of your research. Once you are ready with the concept drawn you just need to draw it on your computer with help of software. Mostly logos are designed in Vector, so that they can be scaled up and down as much as they want this way it can be used anywhere. And once it’s ready the last important step is reviews as you need to know the reaction of it when people see it. Try to use targeted audience for review to get a more precise idea of what you have done. This is the best way to make a logo and inspirit your mind.
